An armed society is a polite society.
“Lott found that permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors and felonies at less than a sixth of the rate for police officers. . . .”
I knew a small business owner who would only hire permit holders, He let the permit process be his background checker.
I have to admit that three years into his “fundamental transformation of America”, Barak convinced me to get my CHP.
It’s still virtually impossible to get a carry permit in California except for the Dianne Feinsteins. Luckily for me I have lived in crime-free areas and haven’t felt the need to carry. If a situation required it, I wouldn’t hesitate to carry my Ruger .357 despite the law.
I worked in Detroit during the 1967 riots, recently in the news because it’s the 50th anniversary. I didn’t carry back then but I had a revolver in my car. During the riots it was a season of open carry and I didn’t feel threatened by seeing everybody in the streets carrying a gun, I was comforted because it ensured that nobody was going to start anything.
An armed society is a polite society.

I agree. Carrying requires exercise of patience
and tolerance to avoid provoking bad behavior
of others that could lead to confrontation.
I was looking for the “Repubicans” to pass permit reciprocity so that people who live in states where CCW is hard or impossible to get, would have a chance to protect themselves like the states that allow CCW, but it looks as though Ryan is going to put the kibosh on the legislation that has something more than 200 House sponsor. And I have no idea what the GOPe Brahmans in the Senate would do if the legislation got to them.
One has to be armed now-a-days with rogue Somalis hired as police officers in this country.

All I can say is, An American should not need a permit to carry a weapon period.. Per the Constitution..
Or pay a bribe to a governmental official to obtain permission to exercise a God-given, Constitutionally-protected right.
G*d created Man, Colt made them equal
That’s pretty smart. Saves him the cost of a background check.
I hope my fellow armed and carrying FRiends are advising these newly carrying folks about self defense insurance.
I generally agree with the author. What I don't agree with is *others* ....I have so many neighbors, townpeople who are @ssholes ...I would do nothing to save their sorry butts.
I can't begin to fathom the depth of their stupidity. It boggles the mind.
A Republican in congress really has to be the dumbest creature that ever existed.

Only reason why I mention them is I picked up their brochure displayed at my gun club. Have no first-hand knowledge of their service. Shortly after I saw their brochure, the NRA began advertising their program.
I’ve been with Sean Maloney and Second Call Defense for about three years. I highly recommend them as the best to anyone else carrying a firearm for self defense.
An interesting link, but the truth is you, the victim, is at the mercy of a corrupt legal system, crooked judges, and dishonest jurors. OJ slit the throats of 2 white people and walked free because the black jurors were never going to convict an African celebrity, period. The overwhelming evidence of his guilt was simply disregarded, the collection of the evidence by white investigators was racist and that was the end of it.
