To consider that the president of the United States cannot be charged for a crime while in office is to create a king or an Idi Amin style dictator and I cannot believe that any red-blooded American would agree with that idea. If such a thing would officially be confirmed then I would definitely agree with those on this forum who hold that our country has sunk to the level of a banana republic.
You must recognize the difference between criminally indicting and prosecuting a president and impeaching a president. The latter is authorized, the former is not.
