New York Times reporter Greg Howard wrote a piece titled Power Play, accusing white women of racial discrimination for how they fail to acknowledge him as they pass on the street.
Writer Greg Howard, of The New York Times, accused all white women of social rudeness towards him personally, as well as other black men, for not stepping aside as they cross each other on the street. Is it possible hes over thinking it? Via the NY Times:
Sometimes theyre buried in their phones. Other times, theyre in pairs and groups, and in conversation. But often, theyre looking ahead, through me, if not quite at me. When white women are in my path, they almost always continue straight, forcing me to one side without changing their course. This happens several times a day; and a couple of times a week, white women force me off the sidewalk completely. In these instances, when Im standing in the street or in the dirt as a white woman strides past, broad-shouldered and blissful, I turn furious.

Maybe he only attracts white MEN.
This is from the Onion.....right?
A black snowflake. Wow.
Black racist get angry if you look at them and they get angry if you don’t look at them.
Racism is in the eye of the beholder.
A whining AA. Who’d of thunk it.
You don’t make eye contact on the streets of new York unless you are in a confrontation. Too many whack jobs and gibmedats looking for an invite to hassle you.
A woman being forced to step out of the way of a man? This just put gender equality back about 100 years.

It’s the old ‘if you don’t sleep with me ur a racist’ thingy
Nukka, please!
It’s New York, not Mayberry. Get used to it!
“After these encounters, Im always left with questions. Why only and specifically white women? Do they refuse to acknowledge me because theyve been taught that they should fear black men, and that any acknowledgment of black men can invite danger? Do they refuse to acknowledge me because to alter their route would be to show their fear? Do they not see me? Can they not see me?”
Maybe he can do a column on tipping next.
Do they treat WM different? Probably not.
A gentleman, no matter his skin color, will step aside for a lady.
*...for not stepping aside as they cross each other on the street...*

Or (by the water cooler)
That new secretary is rude. I think she is Lesbian.
I walked by her desk and she wouldn’t talk with me and when I suggested a drink after work she said no.
(Of course, leave out the fact she was on the phone and you ‘purposely’ walked by her desk 15 times this AM.
Oh yeah! Maybe she IS a Lesbian or married or also thinks you are a jerk like most of us do)
Victimology.
1) Avoid being nailed at crosswalks by the odd taxicab or delivery truck
2) Avoid eye contact with others at all costs so as to minimize the chances of being assaulted and robbed.
One would think that would go double for women...or *any* color.
Lily Tomlin once put it very well..."New York is always knowing where your purse is".
If he hates whites so much, what does he care if they ignore him?
