Tourism officials suspend $18 million incentive for Noah’s Ark site over property transfer
Lexington Herald Leader ^ | July 21, 2017 | Linda Blackford

The Kentucky Tourism Arts and Heritage Cabinet has suspended an incentive agreement worth up to $18 million with a Noah’s Ark-themed attraction in Grant County because the park transferred its main property to a non-profit affiliate.

The July 18 cabinet letter to Ark Encounter attorney James Parsons said the ark park’s recent actions put it in breach of the agreement with the state to refund a portion of sales tax collected at the site, which opened last July with a large-scale replica of Noah’s Ark.

But NOOOOO - this would have NOTHING to do with today’s news that Ken Ham was taking the Gay’s Rainbow back that they hijacked from God Almighty, now would it?

Honestly, I think this is just a good old fashioned dispute over money.

The letter was issued three days ago and would have been drawn up before then. The rainbow thing was in the last day or two.

You obviously have an ax to grind.

One thing I’ll tell you for sure, these people are not fake Christians.

Or perhaps there was a desire to avoid perpetuating a scam within a scam

No this has everything to to with the Ark Encounter trying to avoid a ticket tax imposed by the city to cover police, fire, and EMT protection: Link

It’s a scam because it’s a violation of the tax deferment agreement.

The county also acted in bad faith when they tacked a .50 surcharge onto each ticket for “health/safety” contribution.

It’s gonna be a court fight. Imagine the mess if the whole thing goes belly up and the creditors end up with a giant Ark.

Don’t forget they screwed the county by selling the place for 10 dollars. Some Christians are just greedy bad people......a small percentage makes the rest of us look bed.

How much should they have sold it for in order not to be considered greedy bad people in the Lord’s eyes?

I don't claim to speak for the Lord, but a sale at less than fair market value is considered fraudulent under the Uniform Fraudulent Conveyance Act.

This ‘special tax’ ONLY applied to this attraction.

Discrimination, not a correct policy for any kind of tax in any jurisdiction.

“I don’t claim to speak for the Lord, but a sale at less than fair market value is considered fraudulent under the Uniform Fraudulent Conveyance Act. “

There are plenty of honest Real Estate transactions every day that sell well below fair market value. The act you cited must be confined to a narrow definition that is purposeful to prevent fraud.
