Wouldn’t repealing the Jones Act increase the risk of a US seaport terrorist act from increased int’l flagged ship traffic?
Does everyone know that currently the USCG, Customs and Port Authorities DO NOT thoroughly inspect the majority of shipping containers that arrive in our ports?

RAND, military and DHS have indicated such concern in the past:

No, foreign flagged ships can access American ports. They just cannot move cargo from one US Port to another US port.

In the last 50 years the Jones Act has done nothing to create American made ships. It has merely made it more difficult for shippers to move cargo within the US.
