I live in Bakersfield where the Kern River has been claiming idiots who continue to get in it left and right. We have volunteer search and rescue people who work with the Sheriffs Office and PD. They wear all kinds of identifying gear. About a month ago a search and rescue team was robbed at gunpoint while searching along the river for a drowning victim.
I’m telling you it’s bad here.
