Isn’t it?
Form a conspiracy to “force” the provider of a free service to conform the service more to the users’ liking. Like, what?
;)
I’m sorry that sodpoodle has experienced this; he/she only posts fun, and thoughtful commentary, as far as I’ve seen.
I’ve had disagreements with people, but I’ve never encountered anyone really unpleasant here. It’s the most civil site that I’ve experienced on the Web.
I don’t know who this person is; but I think that one troublemaker - or even several - should never cause anyone to leave, or choose to not donate.
This is the Internet! It’s made up of ‘all kinds’; so just ‘consider the source’ and keep on being Yourself!
I would place some static ads on the site. Make a fortune.

Not sure how allowing paying members the privilege of posting/commenting would violate proprietary rules and laws - kind of like saying a store does that by displaying it’s wares for everyone to see but only allows those who pay to actually use/consume those wares.
The writer of that freepmail misses the main point... it is DONATIONS ! Nobody forces him or anyone else to donate, so what does it matter how much money is donated?
Is he also complaining CNN, Huffpost and Politico make a profit? Better one of the few consistent conservative sites for political news and discussion makes a profit. Maybe he is a Marxist and doesn’t think anyone should get more than their comrades.
Rush article excerpt: CIA has just paid Amazon $600 million to set up essentially the cloud service operation for all CIA data.
I do not know how much you would have to pay...... : )
Some people seem to think that when they donate to FR presumably because they appreciate and want to support it this somehow makes them shareholders, instead of simply guests in this House.
(When my friends invite me to their beach house, I give them some money for food, entertainment; but that doesnt give me the right to dictate how they order their household!)
The writer of this screed seems also to assume that Mr. Robinson is merely stubborn, and dislikes change, completely disregarding the thoughtful and reasoned arguments for doing things the way he does that Jim has shared with us repeatedly.
Seems very arrogant; and the way its being done is sneaky and distasteful.
