Right. I had forgotten about former President Tyler having been elected to the Confederate Congress. Of course that was after his Presidency (to which he was never elected).
I believe Tyler's father was one of the Anti-Federalist delegates to the Virginia ratifying convention in 1788, who was against the adoption of the Constitution.
