GREAT POST!!!! (and I wanted to go back to bed)

For example, should we really be defending “freedom of the press,” when doing so merely protects the lying, anti-Christian, anti-American MSM?

You’ll anger some people here if you press that, at least I did when I wanted their exemption against lawsuits removed. They are now, indisputably, a POLITICAL ENTITY - they’ve chosen to leave their First Amendment protections, and they need to be HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

Should we continue to operate as if the Democrat Party is still loyal to America, when it clearly is not?

The first step there is convincing elected Republicans of what you’re saying...not to mention convincing the country of the same. There is a natural default position that if a person has a blue passport, then they must love the country. The media PROTECTS those people by suppressing obvious evidence that they, in fact, hate America...so we have to work hard to get around that layer of protection...but most people cannot do that, or will not. So you tell them that the left hates America and all they see is the ‘loyal opposition’ who just happens to disagree with them on a few issues...it’s a big challenge, but we must fight it.

“Should we just pretend that we don’t notice that public schools and secular colleges have become indoctrination farms for the anti-American left?”
Again, the default position is that the public schools are simply ‘doing their best’, given the ‘limited resources’ that they’re always whining about. Never mind that private schools do much better with half the per-student cost. I’ve lost more friends trying to tell them what our public schools have become. They know me, my family, and my kids, and great they’ve done by NEVER having stepped a foot in a public school. Their response: “That’s great BobL, but our kids aren’t Einsteins, so we’ll trust ‘the experts’ to raise them (the teachers).”, with implication that our kids would have been just fine if they were simply left to ‘the system’, which is totally wrong, at least in our case. Sadly I’ve given up - even some FReepers attack me when I tell them they should consider living in a small apartment or crappy area, so that they can properly raise and educate their kids (i.e., no public schools) - they seem PERFECTLY HAPPY to roll the dice with a bunch of math-hating, and often traditional family-hating activists raising their kids, as long as they have that nice house, and nice truck.

“Pinochet” The Left still seethes when they hear that name. Chile had two options back then: Become like Reagan’s America, or become like Cuba. Pinochet saved them...and made sure that they were safe for decades by putting systems in place that led to their prosperity. I dream of the day we can do the same - which is to finally rid ourselves or Leftists as a viable political force. I don’t mind Libertarians as an opposition - while I don’t agree with them, they don’t actually DESPISE this country as Leftists do...I think that’s where our political debate needs to move to - Libertarians versus Republicans. The Left needs to be ended as a political force, at least until they can show some actual loyalty to at least our Constitution...which will probably be never.

Even some people on the right criticize Pinochet because he did “terrible things.” But, you see, that’s the position the left puts us in. They try to create conditions in which undoing their agenda isn’t possible without going to outrageous extremes. The left counts on good, Christian, conservative people to be unwilling to do what’s needed to reverse the damage they have done.

But Pinochet refused to fall into that trap. To protect his country, Pinochet did whatever was needed. People were “disappeared,” martial law was declared and numerous other “bad” things were done. But the blame for all of it belongs to the leftists. They put Pinochet in the position of either being a monster, or watching his country be destroyed. He chose to be a monster because that is what was required to keep the country from being destroyed.

Trump will soon face the same choice.
