By the Russian-American lobbyist's own account, the meeting did not amount to much. He had written it off as a non-event:

Akhmetshin, who spoke to the AP while on vacation in France where he said he has been surfing, said the meeting was “not substantive” and he “actually expected more serious” discussion. “I never thought this would be such a big deal, to be honest,” he said.

But one of the Russians are lying. Most definitely.
