The Earth is 4.5 billion years old. It’s survived ice ages, extinction event asteroid strikes, Supervolcanic eruptions like the Yosemite Caldera, and now Trump has gone and wreaked it by opting out of the global warming club. Amazing.

I know more about ALS than 99.999% of the population and I simply can’t believe someone could survive 30 years with even the most mild form, never mind over 50. Physiologically impossible.
Hawking’s is an idiot, I have read his theories, pure nonsense. Guess most don’t want to say anything disparaging about him because he is disabled.

No kidding! How can this dude still be alive? I truly believe he’s being kept “upright” by artificial means and they’ve plugged him into the libspeak box so they can continue to spew their garbage.

He’s also horribly disabled that’s got to effect you psychologically over time. He’s been used, abused and manipulated by some of the entourage that has kept him alive. There’s been lawsuits by his first wife and others on that. Again that has to wear at you.

I think his work 30 and 40 years ago was interesting and thought-provoking but I’m sure not going to tell you how practical it is. These scientists are proof that being the best and brightest in one area does not make them smart on everything. Most of these guys are complete idiots politically.
The worst offender is Bill Nye the “science” guy. He’s a total fraud. Who cares as long as all he was doing was being on kiddie shows trying to show kids that things like hydrolysis, ant farms, and electrical circuits aren’t just for nerds? That’s performing a service. But now this fraud “scientist” who has NEVER worked in research or published in a peer-reviewed journal is marketing himself as a climate scientist and expert and getting it wrong all over the place. I’ll give the guy props for being an engineer at Boeing and Hamilton Sunstrand and actually doing very well at it but in the last 15 years, he’s been nothing but a total fraud. A lot of these guys get their pie-hole on TV and go crazy with it, badly over-reaching, exaggerating their credentials, and eventually killing their credibility. Hawking and Bill Nye are destroying themselves over this treehugger crap.
No joke. He did his best work 30+ years ago and is now ingratiating himself with liberals because it’s all he’s got. Being disabled and a former scientist does not make everything that comes out of his pie-hole some holy nugget. This idiot thinks he’s polishing his legacy when all he’s doing is burning it to the ground.
I kinda wonder if he was misdiagnosed back in the 1960s, re-diagnosed with whatever he really has, and he and his family just never said anything and let it ride. Due to medical privacy laws, we don’t know any different if they don’t say anything.
A lady that I used to work with started walking with a limp, then progressed to a cane, then admitted to us that she was diagnosed with ALS. She was dead inside of 3 years, it’s awful how fast she spiraled. I know a couple of other people who have died in about 5 years. I’m no expert but I’m not believing 50 years, either.
