I haven't been to a home game since I graduated in '76. Instead, we usually attend games that are within a day's drive of Dallas. Over the past several years, we've traveled to Wichita, Stillwater, SMU (lol...20 minutes from our house), Memphis, and Houston.
Last year, we spent a few days in Nashville when the Zags played Tennessee. It was the first time all three of my "boys" joined me...two sons and grandson.
If you can, get your hotel res in early, as they fill up quick / expensive downtown for game days. Also - don’t hesitate to grab a hotel out in west Omaha or even the Midtown Crossing area. One thing I love about this town is that it only takes about 20 minutes to get anywhere.
