Be careful of "fake news."

coliforms are a broad family of bacteria, and are found in animal feces, BUT are also found throughout the environment. They exist on the surface of nearly every fresh fruit and vegetable you purchase. Certain few strains, like E.Coli, are very dangerous, but most strains are harmless to human.

Yes, presence of coliforms, particularly in large amounts, are an indicator of sanitation problems, but as mentioned, small amounts can be found nearly everywhere.
