I would rather see Starbucks donate unsold food to homeless shelters than throw the food out.

I’d be pleased, but I’d be awful surprised if the food/beverages are truly “free”. That generally isn’t how liberal criminals operate. There’s ALWAYS power and money involved....it is NEVER out of kindness/pity/generosity. NEVER.

It’s a dignity thing.

Oh, Yes. We all know folks feeel so much better when their tummies are full of goodies and they get shot by random gunfire..

Dignity, my rear.

This is just yet another incentive to stay homeless and not put any effort into getting a job and providing for your own shelter.

More plantation politics.

Now, if they had invested(or been sponsored) in a program that would assist people in being hire-ready and the results produced fewer and fewer homeless, I might have another opinion.

They most likely take a tax deduction...so taxpayers must make up the difference. So I am forced to work to pay for starbucks to the “poor”. What a crock.

I hadn’t thought about the possible tax deduction aspect of donations.

City Harvest has been doing this in NYC since 1982 and they are totally indemnified against any sickness that might occur. The amount of wonderful food that was getting thrown away every day was appalling, and I am totally in favor of this project. I think City Harvest is now cooperating in this with Starbucks in NYC.
