Salvation isnt dependent upon reading the Bible is it?
***
Was that a rhetorical question?
I’ll answer it anyways.
Salvation is dependent on believing the promises of God. Or if you want to use other words, accepting God’s grace—his undeserved kindness—by faith.
God’s promises are described in Scripture, so reading the Bible and believing it can lead a soul to salvation and eternal life.
Hearing the Word preached and believing in the promises of God is another way.
Being baptized and believing in the promise given is another way.
Receiving Holy Communion and believing in the promise given is another way.
But when someone refuses to allow you access to the Word of God and the promises contained therein, I, at least, can get pretty darn suspicious of that person’s motives. Why would you deny someone the Word of God unless you were intent on pulling them away from it?
