Maybe Hansen can take up writing comic books.
This time he hit his own beehive, so he might finally get some criticism.
Where does the water come from that will raise the level of the oceans? Not from the oceans. From the air? How much rain do you think is needed. From melting ice and snow? How much ice and snow must melt?
A few things. The oceans cover 70% of the Earth’s surface, so land covers 30%. What volume of snow, and what volume of ice must melt to raise the oceans by a specific amount? Are there any geologists who haven’t turned their minds over to liberalism and who can calculate this correctly?
Private mail to me if you can.
Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud
Dr. Nils-Axel Mörner
Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.
From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
With modest changes to the assumptions you could get 2 ◦C global cooling.
Hansen has received a lot of money from those with a vested interest in promoting global warming caused by you.
The science to support AGW has never been there, so the warmists change the subject when it is brought up. Their papers and presentations never identify in plain English assumptions, data, and methodology.
They have been given billions of dollars to prove that man is no good. That is NOT the scientific method!
He should go back to entrapping child molesters.
We need to find a way to stop the earf’s tectonic plates (or whatever they’re called) from diving under one another and fast. Or at least in another billion years or so.
“The study raises the possibility of a more rapid rate of sea level rise in this century than forecast by the U.N.s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, whose research is widely regarded as the gold standard of climate research but also often criticized for being too conservative.”
It’s more often criticized for being completely wrong.
“ Kevin (the missing heat is hiding at the bottom of the ocean) Trenberth of the National Center for Atmospheric Research strongly criticized the study, saying that there are way too many assumptions and extrapolations for anything here to be taken seriously other than to promote further studies.
Lol, he pretty much summed up all of climate science.
Mount Everest, for example, is the highest mountain in the world. And it is still growing about 1 inch (2.5 cm) every year.
What gives? How can mountains be growing and sea levels rising at the same time?
For Kevin Trenberth to criticize a climate change/global warming/sea-rising paper, it’s got to be REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad, basically complete fantasy dressed up to look “scientific”.
A little context: I just came back from coastal North Carolina. In the past, the NC coastline was located further westward, like all the way to Raleigh.
The author of this article, Chris Mooney, is not a real journalist, rather he is a ‘progressive’ true-believer in all leftist tropes, no matter how dumb and how incorrect.
Not too long ago I read one of the scientific magazines stating that when the earth warming scare was first published, nearby planets were also warming at about the same rate, thereby insinuating the earth’s rise had nothing to do with man. Does anyone recall the story?
