Tax season may be over, but next years taxes will be due before we know it—and at least 1.4 million Americans wont know that their Social Security numbers are being used by illegal aliens. An Internal Revenue Service report that this is roughly the number of illegal aliens who are impersonating citizens when it comes to file taxes. To make things more maddening, theyre not allowed to work with the Department of Homeland Security on finding the identities of these people. Stephen Dinan at The Washington Times had more:
Most illegal immigrants who pay taxes have stolen someone elses legal identity, and the IRS doesnt do a very good job of letting those American citizens and legal immigrants know theyre being impersonated, the tax agencys inspector general said in a new report released Thursday.

Cases of employment identity theft can cause significant burden to innocent taxpayers, including the incorrect computation of taxes based on income that does not belong to them, said J. Russell George, the inspector general.
Its long been a conundrum in the federal government.
The IRS knows of 2.4 million people a year who file taxes using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, which is generally given out to immigrants who arent authorized to work. But the IRS is not allowed to talk with Homeland Security to help agents identify who and where those taxpayers are.

The migrants file their forms with their ITINs, but the W-2 forms they submit show valid Social Security numbers that they fraudulently gave to their employer to clear an initial work authorization check.
A staggering 87 percent of forms filed online using ITINs showed income credited to a Social Security number. More than half of forms filed by paper also showed that same fraudulent behavior.
I’m sorry, it was some years ago and I don’t remember.
The SSN is a disaster. It was created as the account number for the government-run retirement system. I have my original card. It says “Not for identification.”
It is now the de facto government-issued citizen identification number. It is a key to all the information there is about you.
The number has no controls. Until the advent of mainframe computer systems, there were millions of people who shared a “unique” SSN.
There is not even a check digit embedded in it.
People in government have no concept of the scope of the problem. They are incapable of solving it.
Step #1 is the check digit(s). Will it take 3 years to formulate and enact a law and implement it?
The remaining steps aren’t likely to happen in the next 200 years.
All of them committing fraud that would land us citizens in prison, let alone the illegality of their stay here, the resources they soak up—including the EITC they get for their fraudulent filings, and the other crimes they commit.
Think how our “infrastructure” construction load would be lessened if all of a sudden we had 30 million fewer people on our roads, far fewer children in our schools, etc. The IQ of our country and workforce would rise and our match of unskilled labor to unskilled laborers would be much better, with more of a chance for higher wages for undesirable jobs.
Just think of the reduced stress and overcrowding in our medical system, too.
Who is that?
I try to keep up on the SC state political criminals but that one escapes me.
John Land from Clarendon County, he’s never been charged but its so well known people who work in the Social Security Office in Sumter know about it. He retired from the SC senate several years ago.
One SS number is one account, isn’t it? So wouldn’t all the credit for the SS withheld go into the account of the legal owner of that account, even if more than one individual was using that number?

Step 1: Abolition of the illegal and unconstitutional SS system.
Step 2: Abolition of the IRS and 16th A.
Step 3: Further shrink the leviathan, Fedzilla, with a LOW %, no exemptions, national retail sales taxes paid to the Fed by the State, as apportioned by Census, by the entities of 1st sale.
At worst, abolish the EITC (no person should pay $0%) and hang over the data to 3rd party for mining...They’ll find the ‘issues’ and assist in tracking down for prosecution.
Leaving it all in the hands of govt = nothing getting done, nor better.
Were those 2 people under audit as well? What happened to THEM?
