There aren't the votes for repeal by itself. And even if there were, the political consequences would fall on the GOP in 2018. Losing control of the Senate and/or the House would be a disaster and effectively finish off the Trump agenda.

What I am reading in today's thread appears to be "cognitive dissonance".

What is the Trump agenda - REPEAL and replace? or Trump's RINO care (A.K.A. Obamacare with a Republican stamp of approval?)

Legislation must be passed - REPEAL.

Trump is removing the Executive branch Obama era socialist implementations. All to the good. However the next socialist president can and probably will strike down Trump's good work as it is only at the Executive level.

Legislation must be passed - Your LOCAL reps./Senators must be voted out of office if they do not work on REPEAL, the next federal Budget AND revision of the TAX code.

The Four Senators - Cruz, Lee, Paul, Johnson are doing GOD's work in keeping the government at bay.

Trump needs a legislative victory. Obamacare was used by the GOP as a political issue. It is Obama's signature legislative achievement and legacy. Obama has come out now defending it. The failure of the GOP to reach a consensus on a better healthcare option will destroy them as a party.

Without 60 votes, there is no way Obamacare can be totally repealed. But much of it can be under both the House and Senate GOP plans. Will the perfect become the enemy of the good? Will the GOP self-destruct on the issue allowing Obamacare to grow its roots even deeper? If the GOP cannot deliver on its promises, it doesn't deserve to be the governing party. The Dems stick together no matter what. The Reps form circular firing squads. This will be their last shot at finding an alternative to Obamacare.
