Cornerstone Christian Academy in Alberta, Canada, is being told to stop teaching scriptures that may be considered "offensive."
Battle River School Division (BRSD) chair, Lauri Skori, told Cornerstone's chair, Deanna Margel, that "any scripture that could be considered offensive to particular individuals should not be read or studied in school."
Skori said it would be inappropriate for the school to share "any teachings that denigrate or vilify someone's sexual orientation."

“Or, get out of any arrangements that make them subject to government. The problem might be partly that they would lose subsidies and a large part of a student body if they went total private.”
That’s the issue. As Christians we cannot allow ourselves to be trapped into compromise by the financial enticements.
The Churches in the Anglican Network in Canada broke away from the Anglican Church over the gay marriage and gay clergy issue.
We all had to walk away from our church buildings that the congregations built and paid for because the courts ruled that the buildings belonged to the Dioceses.
Next will be an end to charitable tax deductions to “discriminatory” churches. And biblical churches that own their buildings better get ready for their local property taxes to skyrocket.

This isn’t the USA, there is no 1st Amendment. “Hate speech” has been outlawed in Canada for many years now, enforced by “Human Rights Commissions”. Mark Stein was prosecuted (unsuccessfully) under that law for making factual statements about Islam.

They brought one. And He said to them, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" And they said to Him, "Caesar's."
While I am appalled by the ruling, the remedy is simple; don't take their money.

Theres pearls and then theres pigs. If the pigs make it impossible to pass out the pearls, you go where there arent any more pigs.
There's something worse going on here. Battle River, Alberta is really in the middle of nowhere in a part of Canada that is far more conservative (culturally and politically) than any northern coastal U.S. city, almost like an extension of North Dakota or Montana(except they are all nuts on healthcare).
It looks like one crank decided to make a big stink and got the bureaucrats involved. If we want to clamp down on both legal and illegal immigration in the U.S., than those who are in Canada will have to find a way to make the few pigs running the joint (think "Animal Farm") to go away. As a learned friend of mine once told me, "You have to remember, Canada never had a Revolution." It makes a difference. In Canada, those for cultural sanity have been silenced, and everyone in the country potentially faces financial ruin or jail if a pervert or a government busybody perceives you speaking sense.
Good Canadians HAVE been laying low. The bad guys are now ferreting out the remainders in rural areas as they have zero tolerance for any dissent.
I suspect in France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland that there are more good people than we know, as they have been effectively silenced for more than a generation, and are not in a position to launch a counter-revolution. What happened in continental Europe is mostly ongoing fallout from the French Revolution.

Eternal life is not inclusive. It is by definition Exclusive, bestowed only on those who believe. So, ake it down so as to not cause anguish to those who don’t believe.

I have known for years that the intention of the left is to eliminate Christianity. Notice they don’t ban the kooran, which is full of orders to kill Christians.
The left has deliberately chosen to promote *slam and to suppress Christianity.

A better approach might be to provide a list of the “offensive” verses to the students. Tell them the government has forbidden their teaching. That’s why I read a pile of banned books when I was a kid. I had to have a signed note from my mother to check out some of them. Nothing entices curiosity like telling a kid he can’t do something.
To: ForYourChildren
Well, there are many sections of the Koran they will have to ban as well in that case.

The Christian model is that there are no good people only saved (and supernaturally helped) sinners. I am chary of a “good people” model. I’d rather be honest about myself as a terrible person amazingly saved. “Good people” rely on their own merit and virtue which will slowly fail at best, while the saved sinner keeps renewing himself in fresh grace and mercy.

Curious reverse psychology. “The government says you must not read [list].” They could try it!!

The inquisition is usually complaint driven. The way to get the Muslims engaged would seem obvious.

Well that goes to show that even Canadians can still think. The Christian challenge is to try to effectually appeal to it.

But here’s what Muslims probably would do. If confronted a complaint of with anti-gay verses in the Koran, they would simply state that there was a translation error from Arabic and would modify the verse in translation. In fact the Koran does teach that adherents are encouraged to deceive when in the minority and not in power. This was what 0bama was all about when he claimed to be a Christian.
However, the Mulims would and do insist on what is effectively “home rule” which gives Muslim enclaves the power to effect judicial decisions on their members with Sharia law. We have seen many examples of this as well in the UK, France, Germany etc. .
Unless committed Christians band together in tight cohesive communities, they will be unable to stand up to the pseudo-Christians, atheists (really Satainists) that are generally in charge of most Western governments.

There are different uses of the word "good". I was speaking in the sense of folks who haven't drunk the Kool-Aid but don't have a leader, movement or personal resources to fight against the government machine when it chooses and promotes evil acts.
