What I don’t get is have 3.5% gets to dictate to the other 96.5% how we should feel.

If everybody who ever gets accused or suspected of being gay were homosexual, the total would be a lot more than that. The statistical argument wears out when people keep saying that any celebrity or politician that they don't like is gay.
