“If hes acting hes a damn good actor. Other confessions of prisoners that Ive seen have not had this level of spontaneity - he wasnt reading a prepared note and his voice was not a flat unemotional monotone - seemed pretty natural.”
I watched the entire video. I “critically” watched it.
It was 100% STAGED. It was 100% scripted, choreographed and rehearsed. It was an academy award performance by Warmbier (under penalty of DEATH).
There was not one second of realism in it. EVERY word, EVERY action was scripted and memorized. It was a “performance”. Rehearsed, rehearsed, and rehearsed again and again.
Just one example, of which I could cite many, was the over use of the scripted word “administration”. For a civilian the word that would have been used is “government”.
Also the over use of the scripted word “beg” was to show an American “begging” over and over and over and over. Not natural.
The banging on the desk, the phony tears, the ready hankie, the faux anger, were all over-rehearsed propaganda.
In fact it was so over-rehearsed that even natural emotional responses had been practiced out. There wasn’t any real emotion in it, NONE.
Even the audience was well rehearsed and scripted.
Some of you may have been fooled, but watch and listen to it again critically, with what I said in mind. Se if you don’t agree.
Completely agree with everything you said. This young man didn’t take the poster. He did nothing wrong. This is heartbreaking not only knowing what is going on, but that some people, on this very thread, give any credence whatsoever to anything Otto said and to anything seen on this film. Fake cameras, fake reporters taking notes, fake everything.
Agreed. Why were his arms flopping around whIle being perp walked? Did you see the video of the man taking down the “poster”? It seems rigid and heavy. How would that fold and fit in a backpack?
That is EXACTLY what I saw. The wording and syntax were pure North Korean English. The write and talk in such a way that their English usage always follows various patterns, the choice of words of Otto was classic North Korean English propaganda speak. The crew of the Pueblo talked this very odd way, too. They did not have a native English correction of their texts; they might have even asked Otto and he just said “yeah” hoping observers would know it was not his words and that he was coerced. COMPLETELY PRACTICED AD NAUSEUM AND THEN “PERFORMED”
