I think they are saying supposedly all the changes in course happened after the collision, like afterwards the cargo ship came back to check, then turned around again and headed back on course.

that is also what I read.
no way was this anything but a accident compounded by carelessness.
The time stamps on what I saw don’t agree with that sequence of events but I’ll look around for newer info. Thanks.
