-- What was leaked? --

Coats Tells House Investigators President Trump Seemed Obsessed with Russia Probe - NBC News
Dan Coats, Mike Rogers say Trump wanted them to say publicly there was no Russia collusion - Washington Examiner
Intel chiefs tell investigators Trump suggested they refute collusion with Russians - CNNPolitics.com

I reject the characterization of the testimony, by the press, but the above articles cover the ground that Gowdy is pissed about.

Congress and the Intelligence Community are gaslighting the public by conducting secret hearings, then allowing the worst construction and speculation to propagate.

What Trump asked Coats and Rogers to do or facilitate is the same thing he asked Comey to do, that Comey refused to do. Tell the public what you told Congress in closed hearing.

Gowdy wants the smears agianst Trump to continue. If he wanted daylight, he's make an attempt to get daylight, and he'd let the public know he was up to that.

First the intel chief is NOT an FBI investigator. So even if he told them to lie to the public (which he didn’t) it couldn’t be obstruction of justice.

from your CNN link: “Mike Rogers described their interactions with the President about the Russia investigation as odd and uncomfortable, but said they did not believe the President gave them orders to interfere,”

I listened to Jeh Johnson’s testimony and he was pretty firm that as of his last day, there was no evidence within DHS of any collusion or cooperation between Trump and Russia. Clapper said mostly the same, yes?

so why would Trump asking Rogers or Coats to confirm publically, make them ‘feel odd’ or ‘uncomfortable’ in any way ? Or, why wouldn’t they say, we’re fine with that except for maybe the Flynn thing, or, except ‘xyz’?

Because it would conflict with the drum Comey was beating? Or because the Intel community thinks they are a separate and equal branch of government and how dare anyone question them?
