‘I’ll Be Damned!’: Trey Gowdy is Furious That Intel Chief Dan Coats’ House Testimony Leaked

Several stories have emerged with reported details of the testimony given by Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats in a closed-door session before House investigators.

And Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is furious about it.

"About eight hours ago, Adam Schiff and I looked Dan Coats in the eyes and we assured him that there would be no selective leaking of his testimony to us. And I’ll be damned if eight hours later, there aren’t three different leaks with what he told us.

"So if anyone is questioning why Congressional investigations aren’t taken seriously, and are viewed as political exercises, you need to look no further than the fact that we looked one of our intelligence officials in the eyes and promised him there would be no selective leaking. And here I am being asked about it not even eight hours later."

First the intel chief is NOT an FBI investigator. So even if he told them to lie to the public (which he didn’t) it couldn’t be obstruction of justice.

Or Coats or Rogers leaked. The leak is similar to the one Comey made whan he told Congress, in open session, that Trump asked for a public statement of what Comey had told him in private.

I’m betting it was a Democrat. Next up, have a classified meeting with just the Democrats on the panel. Then have one with only the Republicans. Use two different stories. Whichever one leaks, you know what to tell the media.

This^^^. In a nutshell this is what most of us resent. From Trey Gowdy to Darrell Issa they go on endless shows, or post endless YouTube videos, fulminating and yelling that, "We've got to get to the bottom of this!" and NOTHING -- NOTHING -- ever happens. It all just... fades away.

Yeah, we all feel played by these guys. We gave them our trust and they totally squandered it so they could remain BFF with their Democrat brethren. They want to be loved by Democrats much more than they want to set this country on the right path.

from what I gather, it’s about Trump asking his intel people, if there was no evidence of collusion, could they please take it public? Because unfounded rumors were casting a shadow on his ability to govern.

One of the MSM stories spun it into Trump being ‘obesssed’.

What Comey did to Trump was equivalent to arresting someone and keeping them in jail for six months while they tried to find some crime, any crime, to justify the arrest.

Technically, the fact that Trump asked Coats and Rogers (separately) to make a public statement relating to government interest in Trump's personal contact with Russians (there is and was no government concern, investigation or interest), is not public knowledge.

In open hearings, Coats and Rogers refused to testify on that subject (a personal conversation with the president) on the principle of protecting Trump's right to assert privacy.

Gowdy is participating in the coup attempt (at least put a drag on Trump's agenda, remove him from office if possible), perhaps an unwitting accomplice.

One or more of the Dems present could leak it to a staffer who then leaked it to the MSM.
