Despite spending more per pupil than all but two large school districts in America, at least half a dozen government schools in Baltimore were unable to produce one single student who was proficient in either English or math last year.
The shocking results, uncovered by Project Baltimore, show a monumental tragedy unfolding in the city that represents a microcosm of the damage being inflicted on children across America. The proficiency tests put students in five categories, with four and five considered proficient, and one through three considered not proficient.

As many of those whom Donald Trump has needled say to Donald. But he does not.
Is that your reply in this context? You have thereby refuted your hubris.
Probably a combination of both.
The homes are saying “Do not act ‘white’.” The schools are saying “Yeah, be ‘black’.”
The school role is passive here.
The challenge for Christendom, from which probably the only meaningful salvation can come is to teach a non-racially-proud ethic. And this requires walking a tightrope because it is man’s fallen sin to be proud of himself. So much so that the results of my attempts to rebuke it are manifest. People want fundamental Christianity — but when push comes to shove, 95% of the time it is to hit their erring neighbors over the head with the bible. Not to draw them into a life that is so heavenly minded it is scoffed at by their proud fellows.
Sadly, Obama had a NAMBLA fan for his Sec of Education. Teach those young boys to be queers. This is sad as young kids are a bit like dogs in that you can teach them almost anything.
And they will be eagerly sought-after by colleges and given scholarships.
The Wire was dead on in the portrayal of the black students unwilling to learn
But this openness can also be used by Christendom.
It’s been a long time since a seriously spiritual Christianity was taught, one that said we haven’t received what we deserved but we received scads of what we didn’t.
And that requires a seriously holy God, rightly feared with the utmost awe, as a backdrop. A milk and water God won’t do.
Hey, as long as they can differentiate between which stores have the lootable goods versus those which sell things like books and gardening tools, they’re good.
Watch the Wire, all five seasons
There is no home life so home life is not the problem
yes. I have no hubris as you describe.
..but I will not be silent about my faith or it’s positive affect on my life and the blessings I’ve received.
All those taxpayer dollars wasted. There was not a single student in six entire schools able to read or do simple math.
Yet they still graduate and get diplomas
Could it be that these folks are reading the attitude of whitey better than whitey thinks? And are envious to have their own version?
The endemic sin of mankind is to be proud of himself. If whitey goes around trumpeting that he is, the black guy will get the idea that this is the way to go, too.
Such self pride is a false premise, and if that is where we stop, for the sake of an earthly society that coheres, we might as well just welcome back separate but equal, unless somehow we can all agree on some overarching identity (rednecks who come in many colors, maybe?). I know I am not doing this perfectly and surely some pride still lurks in dark corners of my life. But I’ve been making a serious effort to chase it out by glorifying God. God will forgive, but God won’t excuse. The cleansing has to continue till we go through heaven’s gates.
Thanks to the libs and the teachers’ union.
They need to SUE about their “kids” edumacation!
You said they earned things. That is hubris. All those things were given as gifts by the Lord. All the effort in the world would not have bet by the advance of one iota apart from His merciful will.
bet=>met.
I heard one of the merchants in Ferguson saved his cash by hiding the money inside the work boots.
