His wife scurried to the trunk of the car to gather up his brains when his head exploded, causing bits and pieces to fly backward. That is the famous picture of her scrambling onto the trunk of the car.
If he was shot from behind why did his brains and skull fragment land on the back of the car?

Actually there was, there are photographs of it readily available, and medical personnel confirmations of it.
