Woops... 2012?
In 2016, Trump won the district by 1.5.
In 2017, Handel won the district by 5.6
Why would they omit that?
Is this piece an artifact/evidence of how and why the media is perceived as dishonest?
And she embraced trump
Jon Ossoff came in third, after #RodneyStooksbury. Karen Handel, 134,595, Rodney Stooksbury, 124,917, Jon Ossoff, 124,893.
Rodney Stooksbury ran against Tom Price in November 2016.
He literally had no campaign - nobody knew who he was, nor did he have any signs out.

How so? Price won the district with massive majorities. Their point is that Trump was less popular there and Handel had a tougher time in a district that was reliably Republican. That's undeniable and it's part of the story.
“Why would they omit that?”
The author was walking a thin and difficult line. He really wants to help the Democrats figure out what they are doing wrong and to do that he has to say some honest things they don’t want to hear. On the other hand, he can’t be too honest because he’s the media and because by doing so he builds up the Republican side as honest and more popular. (Also, being too honest will get his car keyed, lose him dinner invitations and possibly his job.) In essence, he’s saying, look, I’m with you, okay? But you really need to kick the cocaine and alcohol and do honest work. Look at the woman who actually got the job over you. She’s honest, popular and doesn’t lie. You need to act more like that. Mind you, I’m not saying to give up the cocaine and alcohol, but you should at least pretend to be more like her. (Cocaine and alcohol used here to illustrate the Left’s addiction to its toxic core beliefs.)
