It won’t “recover.”
It will be replaced.
The mdia has not changed. The NYT has been a propaganda tool since Walter Duranty. What has changed is exposure by the internet. That is why they are working to shut it down.
I agree - print and television will not ever recover... not in the sense of getting back to what it was [omnipresent and powerful.]
They probably don’t even know how to be unbiased in reporting. So, they don’t know how to present facts to the public in a way that avoids distrust.
My hope is that any remaining media refrains from making the same mistake - either as a revenge motive or out of ignorance.
Successful media will tell the truth in an unbiased manner. JMHO
It wont recover.
It will be replaced.
It took decades to get where we are. It will take decades to finish the process of replacement, and by that time, a different replacement may be in process.
This is a spectacular failure, similar to the fall of the Soviet Union, and for the same reason. There were very smart people in charge, but their assumptions about reality were false. It is hard to make good decisions based on bad assumptions. Eventually you run up against reality.
That is what is happening with the media, and the false assumptions come from the same source: Leftist philosophy.
