A billionaire from France would find he has much more in common with a billionaire from China, Saudi Arabia or Tanzania than he does with just about any of the hoi polloi of Europe or the West. Conversely, all the little people seem alike to him. Thus, he embraces “diversity”.

Not only that, but it’s probably easier to pay net-zero taxes when the billionaires run an opaque global bureaucracy than when elected representatives run the government in a sovereign nation state.
