I have to write about Philando Castile, the 32-year-old black man who was shot and killed by a Minnesota police officer last July. I have to compose myself, sit at this laptop and write something profound about another black life taken by a police officer, another officer found not guilty for killing a black person.

Thanks for the info.
A police officer is 18 times more likely to be shot by a black man than a white man. Let’s talk about that.
Have to agree with you. However I suspect the rasa hairstyle set the cop to defensive mode. Have to trust the jury though till the whole story gets out.
So let's jot down the basic issues at play here.
This weekend, in Chicago 2 people were shot dead and 23 others were wounded across the city during 18 hours from Saturday to Sunday. By gangs, using handguns and AK's. So much for the effectiveness of gun control. I suspect that most, if not all the victims were blacks whose lives DID NOT matter since they are black-on-black crimes, so no fake outrage.
In this case in Minnesota it was a cop who did the shooting, but not a white cop. A white cop would have been a "twofer" for the outrage industry. But this mug got whacked by a Hispanic cop.
Hispanic cop went to trial and was judged to be not guilty, and that always tends to shed light on the unstated question "is this IS or is this ISN'T a 'hate crime'".
Pretty weak case on the protesters' part. I don't know if Soros is stupid enough to throw his money at BLM over this, or if they'll need to crowd source it.
Well, parents and neighbors usually say things like that.
It’s strangers that’s often different. An artifact of the us vs them mentality that liberates some minds from considering reality for what it often is when what it is isn’t what they think it is.
He lived by the law, and he died by the law, Valerie Castile told a WCCO reporter.
PUT yer hands in the air- comply with EVERY command given to you and you all will be just fine- White get shot by police too for not complying and acting suspiciously- so enough with the whiny ‘woe are we because we’re black’ sentiments- Obey the law and comply when pulled over- and by and large everyone will be just fine with only a VERY FEW anomalous situations where a cop over-reacts-
1000’s of arrests are made weekly, many being black folks who complied and were treated just fine- but by golly you NEVER hear about these 1000’s of cases weekly from the left- nope- they take a few incidents where mistakes were made and make it appear as the whole damned police business is corrupt-
Police are out there EVERY DAMN DAY PROTECTING you all, putting their lives on the line DAILY for you!~ Show some respect! What the hell are you whiners doing for the police? NOTHING but complaining about a few incidents!
So damned tired of the left vilifying HEROES who risk their lives WILLINGLY for us every single minute of every dingle day!
Thank You Norseman. The people here with knee jerk reactions and know better than the Jury... heh heh
The people responsible are the ones that teach or encourage black kids to disrespect and try to assault an officer when he has a gun pointed at them.
That is so idiotic, it is called ‘suicide by cop’
you dis him
wearing wrong colors
in wrong place
deal gone bad
drive by
stray bullet
etc.
And when you or yours is at the (ever growing) wrong place at the wrong time and runs into a Castile, make sure you tell them that you cuckingly showed off your moral platitudes on the internet.
They'll care.
I am sure if you saw Castille and his fine outstanding young woman friend driving around your neighborhood, with their guns (he had a license, doncha know) smoking blunts in a giant cloud of smoke, blasting rap--you'd sh*t a brick.
If you were making a stop of a suspected armed robber, would you let him reach for the glove box?
Around 25 years ago I was the target of a felony stop. It was past mind eight and I was alone on the road. All of a sudden I was surrounded by six cops with their guns drawn on me and I was ordered out of my car. They wanted me to open my trunk. I knew I had a cooler full of beer in my trunk. I am asking about the Constitutionality of the search. I was told to not be stupid and open the trunk. In the blink of an eye they were all gone, except for one cop, who then told me my car matched the description of someone who just robbed a party store. He then said “isn't it good to know we are doing our job?” and then raced off.
>>Plus, if I have a taillight or headlight or turn signal light out, I appreciate being told of the problem so I can fix it.
Bingo, and brake lights are a pet peeve of mine. I’m not a cop, I just try to tell people I see with one burned out, say if I can get next to them at a stop light. “Hey, your right side brake light is out, just thought you might want to know.” People are almost invariably appreciative. In fact, the only time recently I’ve been given a nasty comment back was by a black woman in a nice late model SUV in the Kroger parking lot; I’d happened to follow her into the lot and noticed she had NO brake lights working. I was taken aback at her response, and her teenage daughter was clearly very embarrassed.
It can be a bit of a problem when police witnesses routinely commit perjury in order to protect their fellow officer—at any cost.
Heck, they're often trained to commit perjury. It's been documented.
Against that backdrop, juries often get it wrong.
As a white man over 50, my experience is that I've seen several cases where cops get away with murder because their fellow officers lied on the stand.
Why? Because their "blue code" is more important than Justice, that's why...
If black lives really mattered to these cretins, they'd be yelling about justice for all the black people murdered by ... other black people. Clean up your act, "black community"!
He was described as a “public nuisance” at one point. It seems very possible to me that he had a problem with authority, which finally ended in his death.
BLOM. Black Lives Only Matter when the lost lives would bring power and/or money. So, blacks killing blacks, blacks killing any other race are to be ignored and forgotten. No gain, no pain.
Surely you must agree that if the officer asks him to produce documentation, and he moves to produce that documentation, he shouldn’t be shot up for obeying the command.
If there was any reason to believe he may have been extremely dangerous, then it makes sense to get backup, and to order him to exit the vehicle with his hands up.
