Rauner (Gov), not Ryan. And yes, he has been trying his best. His pro-growth and pro-business reforms are modeled after those that have turned Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin around after they were in about the same sad shape.

Since the infamous Jack Ryan and his penchant for strip clubs put one Barack Obama into the US Senate some years ago, and after the equally infamous Gov. George Ryan went to prison. no one named “Ryan” is permitted to enter IL politics...

(or would dare)

...maybe toss in Guam before it tips over.

I should have added, the Democrat-controlled Legislature has basically told Gov. Rauner to shove his reforms up his ass. They don’t want a pro-business climate, they don’t want private sector growth and jobs.

They want a Workers Paradise where everyone is dependent on Government.

CHICAGO MAYOR RAHM EMANUEL STRONGLY DEFENDED "CHICAGO VALUES" (circa 2009)

==============================================

Ballet dancer Mayor Rahm Emanuel gracefully plied into the controversy created after Alderman Proco Joe Moreno (1st ward) publicly announced his opposition to Chick-Fil-A opening in his ward b/c the Christian food company demurred WRT homo-marriages.

Mayor Rham chuckled while doing a graceful plie: "It's easy to do business in Chicago when you know 'the rules.' Chick-Fil-A can open in our town as long as it adopts 'Chicago Values'.....listed as follows: "

(1) weekly cash pay off to the alderman;

(2) hire six of the alderman's friends who work only random days of the month,

(3) BIG AL from the Mayor's office picks up all cash in brown paper bags at CFA's back door,

(4) Chick Fil A staff trained by Chicago PD to shoot 10-12 customers per month,

(5) Any CFA customers actually killed must be registered to vote as Democrats at the autopsies,

(6) $100,00 campaign contribution to Obama,

(7) free food to Jesse Jackson, Jr, who is now "convalescing in jail," b/c he screwed up buying Obama's Senate seat....and free sandwiches to ex-Gov Blago now in jail for running an auction to sell Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder.

I blame the whole mess on just two counties in Illinois: Cook and DuPage, the counties that encompass the Chicago metropolitan area. Subtract out these two counties and Illinois (for the most part) would be a reasonably prosperous state, especially its agricultural output.

It's similar to the situation in Michigan: subtract out Wayne County (where Detroit is located) and it becomes a far more conservative state.

Both the Illinois House and Senate have a veto proof dem majority. They could pass anything they want without Gov. Rauner able to do anything about it.

they don’t have an unlimited piggy bank. The elected officials may believe it but its not so. They cannot print money.

...or travel thru Or work in Illinois!!!

Illinois has high gas taxes and numerous toll roads. They also have a costly income tax. And auto insurance rates are 50+% higher in Chicagoland than most of the US.

So many reasons to avoid Illinois.

The Cubs, Bulls, Bears, and Blackhawks are the only things that are keeping Chicago afloat right now.

Now would be a great time for them to pass a law requiring a universal basic income just like the liberal infested state of Hawaii just did.

That is true in practically all blue states, with the exception of Massachusetts. Washington state less Seattle, Oregon less Portland and Salem, Penn less Philadelphia, Virginia less northern Virginia. I could go on and on, but those places are where the people live so they control the state.

Illinois state officials will demand a federal bailout from President Trump in 5... 4... 3... 2...

This would be very humorous to me as an illustration of Democrat mental disease except for the ordinary folks that are going to be hurt.

Valerie Jar-Jar Binks gets a $35,000 pension, for life?
For working part-time for 8 years? Suddenly Illinois’ problem becomes clear.
No bail-outs for socialist states! It’s like giving a maxed-out sorority girl on spring break another credit card.
`Obama and his free spending, lazy grasshoppers can freeze in the dark’ sez the ants.

Probably wont work.

All my life I've been hearing people in this state suggest giving Chitcago to any state that wanted it--no takers.
