The end result of this movement will be the same as for all economic domains where command economics replaces the market. Given a couple more raises and a downturn in the economy, dining out will increasingly become a luxury restricted to special events and otherwise the preserve of the wealthy.

There are some fast food places that already have these, and the people are not happy, no jobs, the customers don’t mind, food gets out faster...

The automating could extend to high end food as well—robots prepare it, drones deliver it—no waiters and waitresses needed.
