Aaaaand another performer alienates 50% of her audience! Keep going idiots, and your theaters will only be half full!

We used to drive in to the theatre almost every month. Then we had the LGBAlphabet promoting critics who savaged every wholesome or uplifting musical: Civil War, Scarlet Pimpernel, Jane Eyre and any number of others while promoting to the sky all matter of convoluted, depressing, depraved, banal and revisionist garbage.

After all who doesn’t want to see a musical about a dead child, cheating spouses, people who applaud amorality, where you can learn what the elite want you to know & feel?

My feeling is they can keep it and their Tony awards and they can circle the wagons and tell themselves that they are the most talented, topical, glamorous, influential, idolized people in the world while their bases dwindle and the world turns down their lights.

I read a biography that had some tangential information about Broadway at the start of the Depression - a third of the shows closed pretty quickly, encouraging the migration of the talented, and not-so-talented, to Hollywood.

Using inference, shouldn't LuPone be thanking Trump for helping the sputtering BHO economy, putting disposable income back into the hands of potential theatre-goers?

She's probably so insulated that she hasn't a clue at the damage BHO & Co. wrought that it even impacted the "arts". (I wonder if she went with the Muchelle boob-belt look?)

The then-wife liked to watch "Life Goes On", the theme being the Beatles song. LuPone played the mother, and I couldn't stand her in it, particularly when they contrived the plotline to have her sing every so often.
