While such recording may be almost “legal” to reveal covertly recorded conversation publicly is still against a host of US communications laws.

No it’s not.

Some states (a minority) have all party consent laws. Maryland is one of them. DC and Virginia aren’t for example. In Virginia I can record anyone I want as long as I’m 1 party in the conversation.

What is illegal nearly everywhere is recording someone else’s private conversation. But even then there are some ways around that. Like was it a public space or were signs posted saying you can be recorded.

I also meant to say the fact that NBS was recording it means everyone knew it was being recorded so it’s not covert at all. Except for “off the air” recordings.

"While such recording may be almost “legal” to reveal covertly recorded conversation publicly is still against a host of US communications laws."

That presumes to know the terms of their agreement, which we do not.

Jones is shrewd enough to have caveat ex "I'm using this on my show to promote my show, too." And ms helmethead is absolutely dumb enough to have agreed. Listen to her loose talk on the excerpt jones already released! There would be NO case.

Wrong. Many states allow a party to a conversation to record that conversation.

Where it becomes illegal in most states is the recording of a conversation between others when you are not a part of that conversation and they do not give consent.
