I doubt they have a choice. I don’t see anyway that can be put out before it burns itself out. By reports they are still rescuing residents, but I don’t see how that’s possible.

Assuming all apartments are on the outside they could be trapped in stairwells, which may be pressurized or hallways. If a apartment has a room with no outside walls it is possible, but unlikely they could have survived in there as interior apartment walls are less likely to be fire rated as the wall between the hallway and apartment.
