Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) has pulled out of a scheduled appearance on HBO’s Real Time amid controversy over host Bill Maher’s use of a racial slur on last week’s show.
In a statement to The Huffington Post, a spokesperson for the senator said Maher’s “offensive” comments led to Franken’s decision.
“Senator Franken believes that what Bill Maher said was inappropriate and offensive, which is why he made the decision not to appear on the next episode of ‘Real Time,’” the spokesperson said. “He was glad to see Bill, who the Senator considers to be a good friend, apologize and express sincere regret for his comment.”

Bwa ha haaaaa..... poor Al Franken, he is busy distancing himself from so many comedy pals.... first Kathy Griffin, now Bill Maher...... those nasty comedians simply can’t behave.
Hopefully he will be distanced from being a Senator before long.
You just know Franken has gotten pressure from his constituents to take these actions since we know Franken thinks just like they do.

Did he finally distance himself from Kathy G? I hadn’t heard that.
But he’s more than happy to appear with Kathy, THE BLOODY HEAD HOLDER, Griffin.
He canceled an appearance with her in his current book tour, I believe, though I haven’t seen that he actually said anything critical of her.... I don’t know for sure.
I always see Al Franken wearing a diaper with his legs in the air.
Strange. Could it be that Franken finds himself to be challenged in holding onto his senate chair? He certainly seems to be attempting to put out a lot of fires of late.
Someone, please check his diaper, he might need changing.

I’m sure they will always be bosom buddies, but he may keep away from her for a little while until things cool off.

What really bothers me is the FR support of Ben Stein, who is a big supporter of Franken.
Both vocally and financially.

Ol Al’s had a bad week, first canceling with Griffin, now this. Pretty soon, he’ll be cancelling his dream date with Reality Winner.
I guess I missed that news......
