An international team of researchers have recovered and analyzed ancient DNA from Egyptian mummies dating from 1400 BCE to 400 BCE, this included the first genome-wide data from three individuals. The study found that modern Egyptians share more ancestry with sub-Saharan Africans than ancient Egyptians did, whereas ancient Egyptians were found to be most closely related to ancient people from the Middle East and Western Asia.

We’ve long known they weren’t black like the Nubians. Plenty Egyptian mummies had red hair! However Itake this study with a grain of salt as it doesn’t go back far enough. By 1400 BC we know they’d had periods of foreign rule and lists of relations with eastern powers. DNA before 2000 BC showing similar results, if obtainable, would be more convincing for such conclusions.
No surprise to me.
My personal theory on human migration is that if it is a large migration, its morons about to screw up a higher civilization. If its a relatively small migration, its the intelligent crowd just trying to put space between themselves and the morons.
Examples of small migrations: Neanderthals, Celts in northwest Europe, the New Amsterdam Dutch, Chinese migration to South America and people moving out of Florida these days.
Illegal aliens from Middle East and Western Asia snuck into Egypt, introduced belly dancing, hookas and camels.
Did natural climate cycles force Egyptian migration to and from Egypt over the centuries?
