No, she has clearly done damage. She pushed, for example, for her (and Valerie Jarrett and Chelsea Clinton’s) friend Dina Powell, who is now #2 at the NSC—and reportedly leaking maliciously against Trump.

She also got her dreadful new childcare entitlement (for parents making up to $300K/year!) into Trump’s first draft budget.

She wants climate change to be one of her signature issues and she has Trump playing identity politics with female-only programs, such as the one she and Trudeau are putting together for the US and Canada.

She has been pushing against Bannon, which clearly isn’t helpful to the actual causes that Trump ran on. They both should be gone back to NYC. If anything, the sons at least have politics aligned with what Trump ran on and the base who voted him in.

Don’t forget hiring Jamie Gorelick to give legal advice on government ethics, almost certainly on the White House payroll.

Ya can’t make this stuff up!

You have make a solid case. Ivanka’s friendship with Dina Powell may prove especially problematic to her father’s confidence in her in that Powell is often fingered as a prime leaker against Trump. Ivanka and Jared seem to have misled themselves into thinking that politics is mostly about personal connections and tactical cleverness. For those who are thereby made unwary, the constraints imposed by political institutions and ideas lie in wait, ready to offer up painful lessons.
