The two state solution is a fantasy now more than ever. Due to the potential for enhanced terrorism, not just Israel but the Egyptian and Jordanian governments as well see a Palestinian state as a dire menace to their security.
True, and the Palestinians will vote for whatever terrorist instructs them to vote for him. But the Israelis have to balance between being destroyed from outside and destroyed from within. Some two state solution won't stop the former, but might help with the latter. Maybe three states, one terrorist Islamist, one secular and one Jewish.
Alas, although Muslim Arabs live in peace, security, and prosperity in Israel, far too many yearn to see their Jewish neighbors dead or subjugated under Sharia law. Perhaps the Palestinian territories will one day provide a venue into which to expel the disloyal and dangerous.
