I am not sure that Ivanka has done any damage yet, and it may be that she has done good that we are unaware of.

No, she has clearly done damage. She pushed, for example, for her (and Valerie Jarrett and Chelsea Clinton’s) friend Dina Powell, who is now #2 at the NSC—and reportedly leaking maliciously against Trump.

She also got her dreadful new childcare entitlement (for parents making up to $300K/year!) into Trump’s first draft budget.

She wants climate change to be one of her signature issues and she has Trump playing identity politics with female-only programs, such as the one she and Trudeau are putting together for the US and Canada.

She has been pushing against Bannon, which clearly isn’t helpful to the actual causes that Trump ran on. They both should be gone back to NYC. If anything, the sons at least have politics aligned with what Trump ran on and the base who voted him in.

Don’t forget hiring Jamie Gorelick to give legal advice on government ethics, almost certainly on the White House payroll.

Ya can’t make this stuff up!

Yeah—it is almost like we got both Trump and Hillary for president. Yuck!

You have make a solid case. Ivanka’s friendship with Dina Powell may prove especially problematic to her father’s confidence in her in that Powell is often fingered as a prime leaker against Trump. Ivanka and Jared seem to have misled themselves into thinking that politics is mostly about personal connections and tactical cleverness. For those who are thereby made unwary, the constraints imposed by political institutions and ideas lie in wait, ready to offer up painful lessons.

Indeed—as well as having the idea that what platform the president was elected on somehow shouldn’t factor into his policies and personnel once in office...

Trump knows better — but he also loves his daughter.

“Obstruction of your opponent is one thing” when there’s a race to win.....and even in attempting to do so through Congress etc. after one or the other wins.... but what we are seeing here today goes well beyond this into a globalist or nationalist battle we see raging. Those loyal to our country and those who are more than willing to sell this country out in a global scale. ....Trump put his finger in their eye and pulled the mask off.....now they fight in ‘expose themselves’ in full view of the audience.

The Democratic party and its Leftist animating philosophy are more apparent now because of their unrelenting and often unhinged efforts against Trump. On the whole, this is a good thing because it helps to clarify what the stakes are for the country.

Other Western politicians love their children too, without pretending that they are king and therefore their children are rightful princes and princesses.

That overstates the case. Trump is sometimes unwise but he is never a fool.

Oh, and give this article a good long read—you’ve got to get more than halfway through to get to the good(bad) stuff—and tell me your stomach doesn’t turn at the rich liberal Dems Jivanka trying to show their moral virtue with taxpayers’ money while increasing their wealth with rank slumlord practices:

Sad, but typical for the exploitative approach that most money men take toward the poor. It does not have to be that way. My hard-working Polish immigrant grandfather was a machinist by trade and a small time businessman and landlord who was accustomed to collecting rent with a pistol at the ready -- and he could be uncharitably called a slumlord due to the racially mixed neighborhoods and marginal value of his rental properties.

Although no soft touch, my grandfather also had a heart of gold, sometimes helping his customers, tenants, and even strangers when they were caught in a jam. In the months after his death when I was a teen, several times older Black people whom I knew slightly or had just met made a point of expressing condolences, saying that they or a family member had benefited from my grandfather's kindness.

Thanks. Perhaps even better is that my grandparents on my father’s side left Poland before WW I — which made for not just a good move, but also an especially well-timed one.
