We still believe in the fundamental structure of government and respect the office. The alternative is anarchy.

You still have to respect the Office, if not the person in it.
That attitude is the problem. We are not insects. Or sheep. They work for US! This worship of authority is un-American and has caused most of our problems.
These weasels should be afraid to show their face in public. Yet, they go around with armed guards, motorcades, block our traffic and behave like gods. DC is more like Pyongyang than the DC I worked in 20 years ago.

I know a guy who could have gone to the inauguration but didn’t because his kids gave him so much grief over it that he gave up.
Until we get the education back this is only going to get worse.

Imagine the outrage if students had refused to pose with Herr Obama.
The vast knowledge and experience of 14 year olds always astonishes me. Is there nothing that they don’t know?

If Obama had come into your kids classroom for a photo op, would you have been mad if YOUR kid opted out?

Remember in Band of Brothers, “We Salute the Rank, not the Man”?
It’s the same, We respect the Office, not the Man.

I looked that hate filled witch up; shes the librarian for Somerville Middle School.

I wouldn’t because he’s a RINO.
Most of those kids have no clue who he is or what his politics are. They were coached by lib parents and whiny teachers.

I’d take a picture with TOTUS but not the Terrorist in Chief.

The parents have the same far-left worldview as their children. Where did that come from?

From the link...
"The point was, 'I don't want to be associated with him, and his policies and what he stands for,'" said Elissa Malespina, Matthew's mother.
I don't care what Matthew's mother thinks.
However if Matthew feels this way, who the hell has the right to make him pose with any politician?
Because that's all they are.
And for the record I feel the same way about ryan.
I want no part of him, his policies or what he stands for.
To: silverleaf
I’m shaking my head here. Ryan has debased the office. Congress is a disgrace, a swamp, with 3% approval rating and you are suggesting a picture with a creep like Ryan would have been something to treasure?
I know I’m an iconoclast by nature, preferring earned respect to positional respect but I hadn’t realized there was such a broad divide yawning open at my feet.

I agree, that is just the question I was asking myself.
Would some of the Freepers posting in this topic have been proud to be photographed with Obama?
I would have crossed the street to get away from him, left my dinner untasted and gone out into the snow without a coat and been glad to have escaped giving him countenance.
