I’ve been doing a little bit of research. It would seem that the counties in Oregon vary greatly when it comes to concealed carry permits being issued, even though it is a shall issue state, and open carry is legal state wide.
The reason that I’m asking is because my ex-wife recently got a job for the state police in Oregon. I’ll have to ask her to ask her supervisors what the best course of action would be if I were to take our kids up there to visit her sometime.
If I could get a nonresident permit, I should be good to go.
Plus, I hear the salmon fishing up there is awesome.
Hmmm...I’ve heard differently.
I live in Southern Oregon...very gun-friendly, and I’ve never heard of a non-resident being issued a CCW, which is unusual, as most states reciprocate and conservative sheriffs in Cali even issue non-resident CCW’s if one owns property or a business in their district.
I see quite a few open carries here, which I don’t think is limited to Oregonians anyway, but I’ve never heard of a non-resident CCW.
The salmon fishing IS awesome!
You should move here, it’s a wonderful state, conservative in most areas except for the radical three-county Metro district, which is inhabited by freaks and lunatics.
