Your daughter is the exception to the rule. However, I wonder if she found a job outside of California?
Yes. A couple jobs in California (SF Bay Area). When she moved to Kansas. Then when she moved to Texas. And now she's back in California. After a couple years in one job here, she switched to another company a few months ago. No problem getting jobs at all. In her current job, she's working for a start-up run by some Russians and is learning to speak some Russian, which is fun for her. Many of her friends who graduated from UCSC are also gainfully employed.
