Former FBI Director James Comeys controversial decision to detail the FBIs findings in the Hillary Clinton email case without Justice Department input was influenced by a dubious Russian document that the FBI now considers to be bad intelligence, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
The secret document, which purported to be a piece of Russian intelligence, claimed that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch had privately assured someone in the Clinton campaign that the investigation into Clintons handling of classified information would go nowhere.
But according to people familiar with the matter, by August the FBI had come to believe the document was unreliable and in fact may have been planted as a fake to confuse the FBI.

The Russian account is at least plausible.

Too many cats have been let out of the bag for that to remain credible to much of America any more. They are curiously meowing around now, sticking their noses into what they can.

Comey must not be too bright if he was willing to allow himself to be fooled into this scheme. And then claim that DJT was trying to obstruct justice by telling him to drop his "investigation" of it.
Which, if this is true, would have been an investigation into how dumb he was.

Or, weak-willed.
Oh, what a bombshell it would be if Mr. Comey would just confess that he was afraid of getting a case of Arkancide.

I don’t buy any of this. I think it’s just fake news about fake news about fake news. All nonsense.

Comey was intimidated by the Clintons... nobodys saying it. So how does Mueller maneuver all this into an indictment of DJT, or people on his team? It's going to be a challenge, but with the help of the MSM-Democrats, I expect he'll pull it off.

Here's the top-secret intel the FBI learned the Russian had, but later determined to have been created by Russian agents to fool the FBI into thinking there was some sort of cooperation going on between Clinton and the DOJ:
To: ColdOne
Where did this "unreliable" document come from? How did it get into the hands of the FBI? How could anyone know what Clinton and Lynch were talking about? Lynch said they were talking about everyday things like grandchildren - did the FBI think she was lying? Why was the document first given credibility, what changed their opinion, and why is this coming out now?
Regarding the latter question, it seems part of a scheme to rehabilitate Comey's reputation now that he's been fired, and to build on the "Russia did it" theme.

"I dont buy any of this. I think its just fake news about fake news about fake news. All nonsense."
This is a transparent effort to rehabilitate Comey's reputation now that he's become a left-wing martyr. All of his errors in judgment - as outlined in the Rosenstein memo - will now be blamed on the Russians, exonerating Comey and casting a shadow on Trump, who had nothing whatsoever to do with any of it.
To: Buckeye McFrog
"So the intel establishment set Comey up to be their fall guy.....and somehow its Trumps fault?"
I don't think that is the purport of this story. This is an attempt to rehabilitate Comey's image by blaming his errors in judgment on Russian meddling, and to therefore add fuel to the whole Russia/Trump story.

That would certainly be true if DJT was an ordinary Republican, but he isn't.
The whole thing is comedy fodder for him, once the facts come into more focus.

Comey acted like a man clearly being leaned on. Did someone in Russia contribute a few ounces to this ton of pressure? Maybe.
The only people who leaned on Lynch and Comey were with the DNC. The FIX was in, and the FBI could have had admission of guilt by the Clintons that the illegal email server was to avoid scrutiny of the pay for FBI play Secretary of State scam and nothing would have been done.
It's still a cover up to fool the near brain dead Americans who are always waiting for the MSM to tell them the truth.

Could this be an attempt to cover Comey’s butt?
To: Steely Tom
My first question on this story is how a supposedly Russian-sourced document about a private conversation between Clinton and Lynch, out on the tarmac, got into the FBI’s hands in the first place. This whole story has a bad smell about it; it sounds like disinformation, and the timing of its release is very suspect.

"Could this be an attempt to cover Comeys butt"
That's my take. The left is rehabilitating the man they once hated, and wanted fired, into a martyr and a victim. This is an effort to cover for Comey's errors in judgment and blame them on - guess who? - the RUSSIANS!
To: Flick Lives
I think you are correct. The document was not falsified by the Russians. It was a real communication from DWS to the Soros guy, reassuring the Soros guy that Lynch was taking care of the email investigation so that it would not lead to an indictment.
Comey jumped out in front of it to give the appearance that the decision to quash the investigation was his and not Lynch’s, so as to diminish the significance of the DWS document in case it was made public.
Comey and Lynch and DWS were colluding to keep Hillary out of jail. The Bernie folks should be just as outraged, as it just further coordination between DNC, Justice and Hillary’s campaign.
Additionally, the DC cops have DWS’s computer from another investigation. MUELLER NEEDS TO GET A SUBPOENA TO SEE WHAT IS ON IT RELATING TO THE RUSSIA INVESTIGATION.
