I stopped driving about 6 years ago due to cataracts. My docs and DMV said my vision was good enough to drive. I didn’t to hurt someone driving with bad vision. My joke was I was blind in one eye and couldn’t see out of the other eye.
I had the cataracts removed and got the accommodating lenses.
Now, I have 20/10 far vision and most days don’t need reading glasses.
The positive change in far vision drives the local DMV people nuts. The last time, they felt that I had to be pulling some con until I passed all three tests they had . Then, I took the head gal outside and showed her stuff at 100 yards, that she couldn’t see. She laughed and wrote down my eye surgeon’s name and “Accommodating Lenses” for her parents. Then, she told them to issue my new license with no restrictions.
On cool mornings like this, I don’t see my 15” Chromebook as well, in the morning. My eye surgeon says that is normal.
Later when the temp gets to 70 and above my near vision improves until at night, when it cools down again. My wife jokes that is God’s way of telling me to stop using electronic gear and reading books.
Yep cataract removals and lens implants if needed can sure
make a major improvement in vision. Take care
