My wife and family lived on a second floor apt. in Des Plaines (suburban Chicago) and had a regular squirrel would come by and my wife would let him come in the window and get today's "goodies" (they'll let you know if it's the right stuff.)
Then the squirrel learned he can summon us to the window by banging his body (opposite of push-ups) on the screens loud enough to force us to wake up. It got to be un-cute a day or so later.

We live by a golf course and our neighborhood is full of squirrels. We have one that comes to the olive tree in front of the window of my office to eat every morning. I’ve peeved a few off but never befriended one. Lol
