On July 10, at 4:19 a.m., gunfire was detected in the District's Bloomingdale neighborhood. Not five minutes later, police found Seth Rich, a 27-year-old Democratic National Committee staffer, lying on the ground, dying from a bullet wound to his back. A conscious Rich was transported to the hospital; by daybreak, he was dead.
Nearly one year later, Rich's death remains one of America's thousands of unsolved murders and the focus of endless conspiracy theories, spread this past week by Fox News, alt-right social media, a local D.C. news station and the Russian embassy in Britain. The reemergence of the conspiracy theory this week, which did not lack for real news, revealed plenty about the fake news ecosystem (or to use BuzzFeed's useful phrase, the upside-down media) in the Trump era. It also happened to cause untold pain for the Rich family, which has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the so-called private investigator who led this dive back into the fever swamp.

Here's what we learned.
TV news can be an easy mark. This iteration of the Seth Rich story started when the District's own Fox 5 ran a Monday night exclusive, citing one source a Fox New legal commentator, Rod Wheeler for a big break in the investigation. Reporter Marina Marraco reported that conspiracy theories could be proven right, as Wheeler was saying what had been rumored since last year: Rich might have leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks, making him the target of an assassination.
You have information that could link Seth Rich to WikiLeaks? asked Marraco.
Absolutely. Yeah. That's confirmed, said Wheeler,

NO ONE on the LEFT wants to really find out WHO killed Seth Rich....not even his family because they ALL KNOW it was someone on the LEFT!!
I don't remember them. Could you please give me a reference or source about these "teasers"? I never heard that Kimdot.com had claimed involvement in the DNC and Podesta hacking or a relationship with Rich.
NO ONE can believe that the POWERFUL PODESTA Brothers could possibly be involved in SEX TRAFFICKING....just like no one believes that the Clintons really KILLED any of these hundreds of people around them that have been killed........BUT, EVERYONE would believe they have OTHER PEOPLE DO IT FOR THEM!
The DNC did NOT offer a REWARD!!
ROBERT CREAMER!!!!! HE is DANGEROUS and a husband to that creepy woman from Ilinois that is in the House.
The timing of the current Assange tweet along with the previous offer of reward money for information on the Rich murder at the time pretty well acknowledges that Rich is the source of the leak.
Another subject: IMO Assange struck some kind of deal with Obama on the pardon of Manning. There needs to be an investigation of why his sentence was commuted to time served (7 years) from 35 years.
Seth Rich’s parents remind me of Christopher Stevens parents!! TOTALLY UNINTERESTED IN WHO KILLED THEIR SONS!!
This is a Hillary type action. Panic, hate, rage and acting without brains after the cat is out of the bag, all call-signs of “the smartest woman in the world.” I’m going to bet she had it done.
Podestas HENCHMEN had Seth Killed?
If TRUE, then that anonymous doctor is a COWARD for not coming forward!!!!
Well, Podesta is her PET FERRET.
One and the same. They need to investigate him.
Amazing how the clinton crime syndicate can scare people into dropping investigations.

Russian Embassy tweets meme connecting Hillary Clinton to Seth ...

3 days ago - Friday morning the Russian embassy in the UK tweeted a meme suggesting Hillary Clinton was connected to the murder of Seth Rich.
The Democrat Party and those members of such party has more to do with Russia than the Republican Party...
Kim Dotcom historically seems to hype.

Problem for WaPo: at least the “one source” is not anonymous, and therefore, unaccountable figment. It’s an actual person with an identity, name, profession and record of integrity. That alone removes this story from the realm of “fake news.”
But you know what? I personally don’t care if Wheeler’s story is true or not. I believe it must be true so therefore it is. See, GOP - two can play the gotcha game with spurious stories repeated ad nauseum as fact.
Umm yeah, that doesn’t support your assertion that there is a wikileaks email that “proves he did it” (hired someone to kill Seth Rich).
If you bothered to actually read the email in context (https://www.wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/36082#efmAGSAH- for those too lazy to google it up), you’d see that they actually explain exactly how they would “make examples” of leakers:
“> I think Robby rightly says that a lot of our leaks are coming through job
> searches were doing. I think every conversation has to either begin or
> end by telling people if youre name appears in print as a result of the
> conversations the job is off the table.

> of HRC and the rest of the team. People going forward need to know there
> are stiff consequences for leaking, self-promotion, unauthorized talking
> with the press. No one literally no one talked to the press in either
> Obama campaign without clearing it with campaign brass.”
Doesn’t sound at all like they are talking about hiring hitmen. After all, you wouldn’t be making sure to tell potential hires about that would you?
Do you know what would stop this sort of thing?
If the Democrats stopped murdering people.
