Interesting how things come around again.
Anyway, the other day, Trump needed to know if Comey was one of the big leakers trying to destroy him. Because the NYT and WaPo and a thousand other media types have made no secret of their bloodlust when it comes to destroying one Donald Trump, duly elected president of the United States.
I'll bet that Trump, who knows how to confuse liberals with his words, said something that was almost impeachable, but not quite. But nobody is going to confess to taping it, because that would also be illegal.
So Comey snaps at the sucker bait and tells Jim Clapper (who just got fired himself as DCI) that Trump is dead meat.
The House Intelligence Committee instantly asks Comey to testify. Secretly or publicly. They don't care. They just want to see a dead body swinging in the wind.
Then Trump springs his trap, using his favorite bullhorn: his Twitter account and its several million followers.
Including all the news media, who keep a 24-hour death watch on Trump's tweets, waiting for him to break his neck in public.
So Trump tweets:
James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!That was 5.25 am on 12 May 2017.

Heard Joe Degenova say last night specific laws also allow the president to record his conversations.
Excellent take on it. I heard some whiney talking head complaining that Trump sent the letter to the wrong place because Comey was in his office. I just chuckled. Trump did exactly as you said and meant it.

I can’t get any of the comments at the end of the article to come in...maybe it would have helped. If some have tried to explain what’s missing in the article then I feel vindicated in my criticism of a poorly written article.
The taping wouldn’t be illegal—DC is a one-party consent state, which means just one of the parties needs to consent for the taping.

I believe in DC you only need one party consent. So if Trump did tape the conversations with Comey, they are legal.

You’re under this weird illusion that once the elections are over the loser goes home and lets the winner do its thing.
All that an election does is determine which side has the ball. The other side will try to stop the side with the ball using every means at its disposal.

I don't mess with Twitter, but I did "follow" President Trump there about a month ago. The number of followers then was 24.1 mil. As of today, the count is up to 29.3 mil.
Add to that that a taping by either party would have been legal...
A lot of the comments also say it was a poorly written, cryptic article too. A lot of them questioning the writer saying Comey ever “pardoned” Bill Clinton, and in 2002?

I don’t know why I couldn’t get the comments but my computer doesn’t much like American Thinker and I sure don’t like this writer. I forgot the “Comey pardon” of Bill Clinton - that was definitely one of the ridiculous statements. Unreal that the guy was so “out of it”...he should find another occupation!
Comey was also deputy special counsel to the Senate Whitewater Committee - which of course dindunuttin to the felonious Clintons.
As we know, Free Republic got its start with the Whitewater crimes.

“game”. Unfortunately too many people today are so set on disrupting law and order to get things THEIR way, they have lost all sense of decency and direction. May God help all of us if this man made chaos does not end.
