This is similar to the attorney representing the challengers of one of Trump’s immigration orders. He also was confronted with a question of whether or order might be constitutional had it come from some other president. Like Maxine here, he responded that the order might be constitutional had it come from President Hillary instead of Trump. So what we have here is the Democrats now expanding thought crimes beyond “hate crimes” where the action is constitutional or unconstitutional depending on what was in the mind of the president.

It goes back to the “Noble Savage” pradigm, which rejects learning and civilization as “good”.
Primitive man, and by extension, children, are posited as “good” because they are naturally “good” and have not learned to be “bad”.
So, of course, opinions out of the mouths of children is revered.
The real world is exactly the opposite. Children must be taught to respect others and to follow the golden rule.
Man is by nature selfish, cruel, and inhumane. It is the same if you look at it through Christianity or Science.

But “Noble Savage” theory offers “goodness” without effort, thought, or self discipline.
