It was a total break down by Trump staffers, according to Brit Hume, that this effort to use a courier to hand deliver the termination letter to Comey could not even master checking to see if Comey was in!

The White House didn’t know Comey was in California and therefore released their statement to the press, after informing party leaders, Dianne Feinstein and other ranking members, and chairs of committees. Very tacky termination.
